EASTBOURNE will mark Holocaust Memorial Day with two events.
Sponsored by Eastbourne Borough Council, both events will remember those who suffered in the Holocaust under Nazi persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
The first event will be a film screening of Nicky’s Family on Wednesday January 17 at the Town Hall, Eastbourne, from 7pm.
The documentary is about Nicolas Winton who organised the rescue of 669 children just before the outbreak of the Second World War. There is no need to book.
The main event will be on Thursday January 25 at the Tennis Centre, Eastbourne, at 7pm with a presentation by author Gaby Weiner, a performance by The International Voice Orchestra, various readings and a closing speech by Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd.
Booking must be made online at www.lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/HMD
