A PAEDOPHILE who went on the run after being caught looking at child porn in a library has been jailed.

Christopher Bunn was spotted by staff looking at indecent images of children on his laptop at the Jubilee Library in Brighton in 2014.

The 38-year-old, formerly of Stanley Street, Brighton, was arrested and bailed, but failed to answer his bail.

Bunn then fled the city, and appeared on the BBC's Crimewatch as police issued appeals for information on him.

He was found in Newport, Gwent, Wales, where he was arrested for shoplifting.

Police checks identified him, and he was charged with possessing indecent images of children too.

At Cardiff Crown Court today, he pleaded guilty to the Brighton offences - three counts of taking indecent images of children, and three offences of possessing indecent images of children.

He was sentenced to a total of four years and eight months imprisonment for those offences.

Bunn also pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and two counts of shoplifting in Gwent, and was sentenced to four months in prison, taking his jail time to five years in total.

Detective Constable Angela Harvey, of the Brighton Safeguarding Investigations Unit, said: "This has been one of longer running enquiries and we are glad that Bunn has finally faced justice with the help of our colleagues in Gwent."
