CHILDREN at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Portslade had a wild time for World Book Day when they were visited by a group of professional actors.
The actors, from the West End in Schools initiative, came along to get the kids involved in their Jungle Bungle in the Church Road school, adding even more fun and colour to their already exciting day.
Assistant headteacher Nicola Ryan said: “We’ve got a real push on reading here at the moment and we wanted to make a really big deal of World Book Day this year. The actors came in give their performance to the whole school during the morning, which is a show based on four popular books, designed to inspire children to read.
“During the afternoon, the children went back to the classes and continued to do lots of fun activities with their teachers based on the same books.”
