A MEMBERS’ party was held at Cowdray Park Golf Club to celebrate the reopening of the clubhouse bar following a five-week refurbishment.

A large group of Cowdray Golf members and staff gathered in the clubhouse located close to Midhurst.

The party to declare the bar officially open was attended by Cowdray staff .

Following the work, there is now a dedicated dining area in the bar, a casual seating area where visitors can relax and enjoy food and drink, and a designated soft seating area primarily for members.

In the bar area there is a new trophy cabinet enabling all the club’s trophies to be on display together for the first time.

Lady Cowdray oversaw the interior design of the clubhouse ensuring that the room is stylish, modern and welcoming.

Tim Allen, director of Golf, said: “We are delighted with the improvements at Cowdray Golf.

“We hope that everyone – members, visitors and families - will come and enjoy these smart new surroundings and enjoy a drink or have something to eat.

“We have invested substantially in our 18-hole Championship golf course over the last year including new and improved tees, and new machinery.

“By carrying out an extensive refurbishment, we aim to raise the standard of the clubhouse to match the golf course.

“Thank you to everyone who has been involved in this project, particularly the Cowdray Works Department who worked hard to ensure everything was completed on time and to such a high standard.”

The clubhouse was built in 2002, and this is the first major refurbishment since then.

The Pro Shop has also been refurbished with an improved display area for shoes, clothing and equipment.

It has linked up with Foremost Golf, the largest golf retail group in the UK.
