TWO people have been arrested after a man had a liquid thought to be acid thrown over him.

Police were called to the Shinewater area of Eastbourne at around 8.35am this morning.

The victim of the attack, a man in his 40s, was sitting in his van near to Honeysuckle Close and Larkspur Drive.

A man leant in through the window and the liquid was then thrown over the driver.

Police have arrested a-16-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man on suspicion of GBH with intent following the incident.

Detective Inspector Simon Yates, of Sussex Police, said: "The victim is being treated at hospital for a minor injury.  "At this stage we don't definitely know whether it was acid thrown on him and we are examining the liquid and the scene where it happened.

"At this stage we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident."
