TODAY we focus on photographs from the past in an all about Albion edition of Timeout.

Former Brighton and Hove Albion footballer Peter Donnelly played as centre forward for the club.

The all-round sporting talent made 56 appearances for Albion and scored 13 goals during his time at the club.

He once scored the winning goal in a match against Bristol City to save Albion from relegation.

He is pictured above twice in 1964 at Shoreham Boys Club surrounded by youngsters who no doubt admired his sporting abilities.

Born in Hull in 1936, Donnelly started his football career playing for Doncaster Rovers, also playing at Scunthorpe United, Cardiff City and Swansea Town, before moving on to play for Albion.

He also served for two separate periods as manager at Margate.

Another Albion great, Zillwood March, who played 62 times for the club, ended his time there in May 1922, when Brighton achieved League status.

Pictured above in 1992, two years before his death, he was a left-winger for the club.

He was born in Bosham and started his career at Albion in 1913 after being scouted by their then manager Jack Robson, when the club was competing in the Southern League.

DJ Pete Murray played at an Albion match in 1979.

His broadcasting career lasted for more than 50 years, with him working in both radio and television.

He also worked as an actor, both on screen and on stage, starring in musicals, sitcoms and several films.

He was a BBC Radio 2 DJ, who also presided over the BBC Light Programme, which played a variety of Pop songs.

Seagulls supporter Alf Dawes is also pictured above covered in the team’s blue and white colours.
