A BODY has been found on the tracks at a railway station.
British Transport Police were called to Durrington Station, near Worthing, at 7.43am, after reports of a person being hit by a train.
Officers and paramedics attended the station, but a person has been declared dead at the scene.
BTP officers are now reviewing CCTV and conducting other enquiries to establish how the person came to be on the tracks.
The death is not believed to be suspicious and the coroner's office will be informed shortly.
They are currently working to trace the person’s next of kin.
Sussex Police confirmed they are also at the station.
National Rail said: "The power to the track was switched off between Worthing and Littlehampton whilst Network Rail response staff and the emergency services attended to an incident on the railway."
The railway line has now been reopened and trains are running again.
