Thieves have smashed their way into a Barclays Bank and left a pile of their wreckage behind.

The incident happened at around 2am today (Sunday), in the High Street, Henfield. 

Police are unable to confirm what type of vehicle was involved in the incident.

The thieves rammed into the cashpoint of the bank, leaving a large hole and rumble strewn outside.

Police are at the scene this morning to investigate the incident. 

The Argus has contacted Sussex Police for a comment.
