What is your favourite place in Sussex?

Charleston. Whenever I visit it seems to be impossibly sunny and idyllic. It feels like both a time warp to the past and the best case scenario for the future.

What do you love most about living in Sussex?

Being by the sea and feeling independent. I felt very drained by London, but in Brighton I feel full of energy and optimism. Nothing is out of reach, and I can get home from anywhere on my own.

What advice do you have for your 12-year-old self?

I was very shy as a child (and am quite shy now), so probably not to worry so much.

What is your most valued possession?

My cat, Witchy, though I suppose it's not very nice to think of her as a possession. I'm struggling to think of anything else... Nothing physical is that important to me. I enjoy art, fashion, books and records but I'm not overly sentimental about any of it.

What is your biggest regret?

Not truly mastering anything in my life.

What is your biggest fear?

I'm afraid of everything. I'm a pretty anxious person.

What is your proudest achievement?

I've just been in a therapy session where we talked about my need to constantly strive for something else, so I don't think it's happened yet...

Which five people (living or dead) would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?

Anais Nin

Nefertiti

Lana Del Rey

Doris Lessing

Agnes Martin
