THE Hot Dog and Cider Festival is coming to Brighton.

An estimated 4,000 people will congregate on The Level on Saturday, July 7, from 3pm for an inaugural event focused upon hot dogs and cider.

Inspired by the recent resurgence in the hot dog industry, the first edition of this intended annual festival is organised by Events Runaway.

It is the team behind sold-out festivals such as Fright, Boundary, and Wildlife.

The event will feature more than 100 different ciders and some 20 hot dog vendors.

Festival organiser Henry Moffat is confident in the age-old union that this festival is basing itself around.

He said: “Pork and apple is a classic combination and we knew that the idea behind it would bring a lot of people together.

“We want to create a family friendly party with the intention of pleasing everyone.

“With this in mind, the festival will feature a range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free vendors to ensure that all preferences are catered for.

The day will be provided for predominately by Sussex breweries and sellers.

Henry says one of the objectives of the festival is “to showcase all of the great produce that the South East has to offer”.

Alongside the food and drink, the festival will feature stalls from a number of butchers, bakeries, and condiment companies.

There will also be a range of entertainment, including music from local bands and two tribute acts.

There will also be hot dog eating competitions and sausage making lessons with instruction coming from local butchers and meat manufacturers.

Children under 12 will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

There will be s variety of activities for young people including fairground rides, apple bobbing and face painting.

Tickets are priced at £5 and available n the SeeTickets website.
