AN accident near Firle has closed part of the A27 this morning.
Emergency services were called at 6.36am when a Vauxhall Corsa came off the road.
It was initially believed the driver had suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
But now officers suspect he may have simply lost control of his car.
He has been taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, including cuts and bruises.
Sussex roads police and emergency are services working at the scene.
A contraflow is in place in both directions between the A26 Beddingham and the A227 near Polegate.
Traffic is moving but there are lengthy queues.
⚠️ Due to an accident on the A27 between Beddingham and Polegate, traffic is filtering onto the coast road and causing delays to our #BH12, #BH12A and #BH12X services. They are therefore terminating and starting from the Sealife Centre in Brighton. ⚠️
