AM I being cynical, have we got a council leader who will listen to residents as he said he would, or is it that The Argus reports the issues, or is it we have local elections in a few months?
After reading The Argus (June 23) three items were either reversed or issues sorted after being publicised by the newspaper, namely parking tickets, Moulsecoomb School and Hove Library planning.
I would like to think that it was a council leader who listens to the residents but after The Argus article on Friday when a Green councillor called residents “pompous” and there being no response from the council, I take it therefore it must be the other reasons, namely The Argus getting involved, and local elections in the near future.
Also at a residents’ meeting the issue of the Naked Bike Ride was raised regarding it starting near a children’s playground.
The council took no responsibility even though this is council land. The response was that the police are taking no action.
