ZOE Ball has celebrated being sober for two years during the “toughest” time of her life.

Posting on her Instagram account, the 47-year-old TV and radio presenter shared a screen grab which read “I have been sober from alcohol for two years.”

Her post said: “Special moment. two years no booze – through two of the toughest years of my life.

“I’m not sure if I’d have survived intact had it not been for my sobriety and recovery.

“Sending out some big love and gratitude to everyone at Lifeworks Woking and my dear friends in the fellowship.

“Some extra big love to my family and special magic loved ones who encouraged me to get help and have supported me through everything.”

Zoe wished those just beginning their path to recovery “thoughts and strength and love”.

In May last year, she faced tragedy as her partner, cameraman Billy Yates, was found dead in his home in Putney, aged 40.

Taking to Instagram at the time, she posted a picture of a flower with the caption “My sweet love x.”

As her partner was laid to rest almost three weeks later, Zoe posted a smiling close-up of him and wrote: “Goodnight my beautiful boy, I’ll be loving you always.”

Mr Yates was said to have been struggling with mental health issues and financial worries.

Inspired by this, Zoe cycled more than 300 miles between her birth place of Blackpool to her home city of Brighton for Sport Relief earlier this year.

She said then: “I lost my boyfriend last year and I really wanted to do something and find some hope for people living with mental illness, to help others find some help.

“There are some great projects out there.”

“In 2016 over 6,000 people died by suicide. Help is really, really needed.”

She battled adverse weather conditions and completed the gruelling task in five days, raising almost £1,200,000 for the BBC charity.

Zoe relocated to Ditchling earlier this year, moving away from ex husband Norman Cook, who she lived two doors down from in a beachfront property in Hove.

She said on her Radio 2 show at the time of the move: “I don’t know if any of them are listening but thank you to my new neighbours.

“I’ve just moved over the Downs a little bit into a lovely village and I have been inundated with cards and flowers from people, which is so lovely.
