ONE WIZARD is hoping his magical skydive can raise money for the city’s homeless.

Harry Potter fan Oliver Dall, 26, from Brighton, is best known for being the proprietor of wizarding shop Oliver’s Brighton but now he is looking to give something back.

The shop, which is located Trafalgar Street, has been providing residents and tourists with their magical wares since it opened six months ago.

Now the magician is looking to raise over a £1,000 through a Just Giving fundraiser which, if successful, he will complete a skydive, which would see him freefall for a staggering 30 seconds.

Not one to do things the normal way, the wizard shop owner will be accompanied by a Hedwig the owl toy and will also be donning his Slytherin robes for the 10,000 foot drop.

Oliver said: “I’ve lived in the city for eight years and now I’m running a successful shop. After earning all this money I owe it to Brighton to give something back.

“All the money raised will be going towards Brighton’s homeless in the form of charity, Sussex Homeless Support.

“They do such wonderful work, I always see the guys and girls from the group dishing out food at the Clock Tower on a Sunday.”

The Sussex Homeless Support charity was founded by Jim Deans and provides support to those living on the street in the city.

Volunteers at the charity launched Brighton’s first mobile homeless shelter after converting a double decker bus into space for rough sleepers.

The bus, which includes a toilet, electric generator, and ten beds, was driven to London for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Megan Markle.

Oliver has already raised three-quarters of the target, and so has decided to up the ante.

If the fundraiser reaches a bigger target of £1,500, the wizard will add another 5,000 feet on the perilous jump, bringing his total free fall time to 60 seconds.

A 15,000 feet drop is not an easy task for a someone with a set-confessed fear of heights.

Oliver added: “My fear of heights is probably the only fear I have so to be honest, I’m a little terrified.

“You could probably say it’s not the ideal thing for me to be doing!”

Oliver has teamed up with The Noble Collection, an official licensed creator of movie merchandise, which will be providing the stunt with the toy Hedwig.
