A WORKMAN got trapped when the digger he was driving overturned.
It happened at the stables in Race Hill, near Brighton Racecourse, this afternoon.
The air ambulance, paramedics, firefighters and police were called to the scene at lunchtime.
Fire crews released the digger driver from under the machine and he was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Two fire engines, a fire car, a police car and two road ambulances also attended.
A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said the man, whose age is unknown, may have suffered head and arm injuries.
He was unconscious when paramedics arrived.
A spokesman for Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance said: “We can confirm we have dispatched one of our helicopters to Race Hill shortly before 12.45pm today to attend to an incident.
“We have no further information at this stage.”
