ADORING fans attended an Elvis Presley convention in Brighton in 1984.

Our main picture today shows excited women surrounding a life-sized model of Elvis.

At the top of the page we have a shot of BBC radio presenter David Hamilton, Richard Davis and actor James Vallon at the convention.

Does anyone know where in Brighton the event took place?

Somewhat unrelated to Elvis Presley are several robberies which took place around the city in a bar, a restaurant and a museum in the 1980s and 1990s.

A man is pictured at Mrs Fitzherbert’s wine bar in New Road, which was the scene of a robbery in an unknown year.

The bar, which is named after Maria Anne Fitzherbert, is still there today.

The Pizza Hut safe was robbed on May 4, 1992.

A man is pictured putting his hand through a hole in it.

Also pictured here is an 18th-century beer mug, which was found by Brighton Town Hall in 1985.

Andy Dyer is pictured with 18th century beer mug outside the town hall.

Hove Museum was also robbed on January 7, 1981.

The free-entry museum and art gallery, which is in New Church Road, is well known for its collection of toys, cinema history, local history and fine art.

A man is pictured here presumably inspecting the damage or tidying up after the incident.
