A VETERAN dedicated to educating others about the consequences of the Holocaust will be in Seaford this weekend.
Dorit Olliver Wolff from Eastbourne will be signing copies of her inspirational book, From Yellow Star to Pop Star in Driftwood Garden at Bishopstone from 2pm to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
She will be donating £2 from each sale to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Garden visitors will be able to chat with her about her amazing life and enjoy tea and cake too.
Meanwhile, the 25th anniversary of Artwave got off to a great start at venue 65, Driftwood Garden.
Despite the very gloomy and occasionally damp weather, some amazingly colourful visitors brightened up the already dazzling garden, brimming with colourful plants and eye catching art.
Owner Geoff Stonebanks was also raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Horizon Centre in Brighton.
The weekend produced almost £1,000 for the charity with visitors generously donating £367 in the collection tins and purchasing £316 worth of tickets for the grand raffle of artists’ work.
The balance came from the proceeds of Geoff’s homemade tea and cakes, enjoyed by the majority of visitors.
Geoff said: “I can’t believe how generous visitors were with over £200 in donations on Saturday alone.
“ I was amazed at how far some visitors travelled to view the garden and the art.”
Driftwood and other Artwave venues are are open for the next two weekends.
Driftwood does not open Bank Holiday Monday.
