THE headless body cat has been found in a park.
The death of the feline which was found by a passerby in Fishersgate Park, is “highly suspected” to be the work of the M25 cat killer.
A team set up to track down the killer are looking into the incident, but because the body was found two days after its death, the group were unable to conclusively say the cat’s death was human related.
The group are now hoping to trace the owner of the black female cat.
This comes after the group confirmed that a mutilated cat found in Victoria Park, Portslade, in July, was the work of the pet killer.
A spokeswoman for South Norwood Animal Rescue (SNARL) said: “Unfortunately, because she has been dead for a couple of days, it makes it very difficult for us to see all the things we look for to rule incidents in and we can’t at present say with clear certainty that this is a linked case.
“However, it is certainly highly suspected.
“We will update the situation if more information comes to light.”
The M25 cat killer is believed to be behind the deaths of more than 400 animals across the UK since 2004.
