The South of England Showground, Ardingly, Saturday, September 1

One of Britain’s greatest exports in the 80s, Simple Minds are proving that close to 40 years on they’ve still very much got it.

With cracking tracks like Don’t you Forget About Me and Alive and Kicking, the band are sure to put on a cracking show.

They are backed by The Pretenders, who are bringing their fantastic stage prescience to the stage.

And for a more recent vibe, Brit Award winner KT Tunstall will be opening proceedings.

Three fantastic acts and hopefully plenty of sun will make for an excellent evening.

Zoe Lyons

Komedia, Brighton, Sunday, September 2

Bent Double is the regular Komedia evening put together by fantastic comic and Brightonian, Zoe Lyons.

For this show, she’s bringing along the metal-loving, long-haired, and hilariously rude Andrew O’’Neill.

Also in tow is the frank, fast, feisty Maureen Younger, who is well known for her comedic skills across the country.

A pair of Julies arrive for the proceedings in the form of Julie Oliver and Julie Jepson.

Then, of course, there is Zoe herself to bring things to a head.

Bent Double rarely disappoints for hilarity so if you’re up for a laugh then pop down.

His new show sees him explore the alarming state of the world and why we can’t understand 99 per cent of the world’s population.

There’s sure to be some controversy, maybe a little rude language, but ultimately, and most importantly, a lot of laughs to be had.
