MAGISTRATES have put a restraining order on a man who posted offensive messages online.
Craig Aldis appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court where he admitted sending a malicious communication that was either “obscene”, “indecent”, or “menacing” in character.
The 59-year-old wore a dark suit and tie as he appeared in court, and was warned the offence was serious.
Andrew Walker, prosecuting, said he had posted online about Suzanna Grace at Canning Street in Brighton in March.
Aldis, of Sackville Road in Hove, has been told not to contact her in any way until a restraining order ends in August 2020.
Magistrate Robert Macrowan fined him £192 and ordered him to pay a £30 victim surcharge, and £85 for Crown Prosecution Service costs. A second charge was dropped.
