A DELIVERY truck got wedged under a bridge this morning.
The Bidfood lorry turned into Trafalgar Street in Brighton and damaged its roof as it tried to go under the railway bridge today (Saturday) at 8.17am.
Police cordoned off the road near Brighton train station while they were dealing with the incident.
A police spokeswoman said: “The lorry got wedged under the bridge after it turned into the road.
"We are dealing with Network Rail who will assess the bridge for any damage but it appears to be all in order.
"It was under there for quite some time before reversing out.
"The truck is damaged above the cab, but it has now gone and the road is clear."
The lorry was picked up by a recovery vehicle and taken away at about 10am.
A man who works for Network Rail said: "There is no damage to the bridge, I've done my bit now, I've done all I can do."
