A BUSINESSWOMAN from Haywards Heath has been selected for London Fashion Week.

Dominique Verner will be showcasing the S/S19 collection at the Designer Showrooms, 180 The Strand, from September 14-18.

It’s a small local business called Hopeful based in Haywards Heath, set up only 18 months ago.

Dominique said: “It is really exciting for such a young brand..

“We are a womenswear accessories brand designed and made in the UK.

“Featuring understated and pared back styling, their fabric and leather bags were complimented by the selection team for the size and scale of their totes and the simplicity of their designs.

“Hopeful bags are both feminine and functional, using a careful edit of super-soft leathers, luxe suede and utilitarian denim.

“The third collection features chevron detailing, lurex threading and a cool sophisticated palette with a signature print for the season.

“Keeping the Hopeful brand UK-based is key to the company ethos.

“All bags are handmade in the UK and fabrics are sourced from fully sustainable manufacturers.”

Dominiqu, who is the founder and designer, said she can’t wait.

She said: “I’m so excited to be showcasing this range at London Fashion Week.

“Having worked in fashion for many years, this chance to work on my own brand and to be recognised by the British Fashion Council is incredibly encouraging.

“Hopeful stands for the promise of something new and gentle optimism which is reflected in the simplicity of the design and our pared back styling.”

The business is a collaboration between design creative Dominique and business mind of her colleague Liz.

Dominique has had 20 years experience within the fashion industry both as a designer and buyer for some major uk brands.

Liz began her career in financial services and has since set up her own successful business.

Their philosophy is creating beautiful and stylish accessories that have a unique and functional quality.

Each of their designed bags blends roomy design with pared back styling, unique washes, butter soft leather and distressed detailing to give Hopeful a distinct contemporary aesthetic.
