GREEN business Tiny Box Company is putting on a not-for-profit eco waste event in Brighton in November.

Tiny Box Company is based at Sheffield Park, Danehill, near Uckfield.

It has come up with a variety of innovative processes and ways to reduce their impact on the environment.

However, with many companies still delivering goods in unnecessary amounts of packaging and restrictions on what can be recycled, it can be difficult for consumers.

Rachel Watkyn, founder and managing director, said: “Our recent Green Business win at Lewes Business Awards was a real accolade to our relentless efforts at being an eco-friendly company.

“However, it does not stop there for us. We decided to put on an event to talk about the waste cycle from manufacturer to consumer.

“As well as this, it is also an opportunity for businesses and consumers to really get to grips with this pressing issue and make a difference.”

The event will be held at the Brighthelm Centre on Thursday, November 1.

Tickets are free and available for booking before the day.

Rachel set up the firm in 2007 after unsuccessfully trying to find recycled packaging for her range of ethical fair trade jewellery.

The idea captured the imagination of Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones of BBC’s Dragons Den.
