INDEPENDENT financial advice firm Spectrum IFA is supporting The East Sussex Against Scams Partnership.
This is a countywide initiative to help protect people from being ripped off through increasingly sophisticated financial scams.
Managing director Terry Weston said: “As financial advisors, our purpose is to help people manage their money and protect their investments, and part of this is making them aware of the risks of being scammed.
“We recently held a Friends Against Scams awareness session for staff. It’s heartbreaking to hear how people who have worked hard to secure a comfortable future for themselves and their loved ones can have their lives destroyed by ruthless criminals.
“We applaud the work of the East Sussex Against Scams Partnership and have pledged our support.”
The Partnership, which is run by East Sussex County Council’s Safer East Sussex team, works with businesses and organisations to help people become more aware and resilient to the possibility of scams.
