A SUSPECT wanted for attempted murder has handed himself in to the police.
Armed police and ambulances were called to Sussex Wharf at Shoreham Beach at 8.15pm last night.
A 36-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times, and had to be rushed to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
She remains in a serious but not life-threatening condition.
The police dog unit and a helicopter were sent in the search for the suspect, who was named as 32-year-old Liam Hanley.
Police issued an alert to residents to look out for "suspicious males" in Shoreham, then named Mr Hanley as the suspect shortly after midnight.
Now they say a man has handed himself in to a police station in Slough in Berkshire at lunchtime today (Wednesday, September 5).
Detective Inspector Chris Leech said: "A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a woman in Shoreham. We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance in this investigation."
