A ROAD has been closed after a fire broke out in an industrial unit.
Firefighters were called to Hollingdean Road shortly after 1pm today.
Crews from Roedean and Brighton remain at the scene, where three fire engines and a cherry picker have been sent.
Residents reported seeing smoke and flames from the building.
It appears the flames have affected Rodhus, a creative work space for artists in Brighton.
A spokeswoman from the fire rescue service said: "We were alerted at 13.04 to reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at an industrial unit on Hollingdean Road, Brighton.
"We also received calls from passers-by who reported seeing smoke coming from a roof.
"Crews have attended and are using two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to tackle a fire in a kitchen. Three fire engines are at the scene.
"There are no reports of injuries."
