POLICE were called to a quiet housing estate after a man was reportedly bottled.
A 30-year-old man suffered injuries to his head and was "bleeding heavily" after the incident in Fitzherbert Drive off Bevendean Road in Brighton on Monday.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, and his injuries needed several stitches.
The injury was so bad he had to be held in the hospital overnight, police said.
Now they say a 26-year-old woman from Brighton was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
She remained in custody as The Argus went to print.
Police have appealed for witnesses and information about the incident which took place outside a block of flats at 9.30pm.
