THE nights may be drawing in a little bit now but that has not stopped Argus Camera Club members getting out and about.

After we set the theme for this month’s £50 competition as “people”, former Dorothy Stringer pupil Matthew Way sent in a lovely picture of a reflection of pedestrians on the seafront.

“The infamous bandstand puddle never seems to disappear even when it’s hot,” he said.

Sticking with the people theme, Bernard Akehurst also sent in a picture taken on the seafront.

He captured an artist painting the carousel.

We are inviting our 350 members to continue sending in their people-themed pictures to the Facebook group.

But today we are showing off some of the other work that has been submitted this month.

We could not resist showing you “Swallows on the wire” by Karen Clarke.

Argus editor Arron Hendy said: “When we started the camera club we expected great shots as there are so many talented people here. This shot of the Swallows proves that.

“Karen has captured the motion of the birds in such a great bright blue sky.

“As you can see there are already more great shots sent in this month. These pictures simply must be published for all to see.”

The Argus Camera Club is for all amateur photographers who want to share their pictures of Brighton, Hove and the rest of Sussex.

As the community continues to build, we hope members will share tips and advice, join our projects and enter competitions.
