SOUTHDOWN has been named as one of the top ten family-friendly employers in the UK for the seventh year running.

The housing, care and support provider, situated in Lewes, was commended for the support it provides its employees to achieve a good work-life balance.

The Top Ten Employers for Working Families award is run by Working Families, the work-life organisation.

Vikki Hayward-Cripps, Deputy Chief Executive at Southdown, who leads on its employee engagement, said: “Being a family-friendly employer is an important part of our culture as it has helped us not only to attract but also to retain skilled and hardworking staff.

“The majority of our staff have personal caring responsibilities for children or adults. We support our people throughout their careers offering flexibility to balance work with changing personal and home lives.”

Vital Parangovskis, pictured, Service Manager for a Southdown Supported Living service for adults with learning disabilities, said: “As a parent, I feel incredibly lucky to work for such a supportive employer that allows me to balance work and family life.”

It employs around 950 staff.
