A MOTORCYCLIST died after a crash in a rural road.
Emergency services were called to the A275 Lewes Road at Chelwood Gate at 11.20am on Sunday after a crash between a Volkswagen car and a blue and white Suzuki motorcycle.
The crash happened at the junction near the Cats Protection Centre, close to the Red Lion pub.
A 31-year-old man from London was pronounced dead at the scene, and his family have been told.
A 57-year-old woman driving the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries, but did not need hospital treatment.
The road was closed until 6.50pm.
Now police have appealed for any witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage to come forward.
