Villagers have been left without water after a water main burst.
Thousands of gallons spilled onto Cuckfield Road at Hurstpierpoint on Friday evening.
Police closed the main road to traffic while repairs were carried by workers, with work due to be completed on today.
The leak reportedly started as a trickle, but later on Friday night there were two water main bursts that left the road flooded.
Some homes were left with water either cut off, or with low pressure.

Hurstpierpoint parish councillor Allan Brown reported that while at one end of the village water pressure had returned, the water company had contacted residents to distribute drinking water bottles at the garden centre.
He said South East Water had contacted some villagers about the situation.
