Attack at six-a-side football match puts man in hospital
AN AMATEUR footballer was attacked during a six-a-side match.
The 23-year-old Pevensey man was playing at Langney Sports Club in Priory Road, Eastbourne, when he was assaulted, suffering facial injuries and needing hospital treatment.
He was playing for Beesley McClean against a team named De Gea Bar on August 20, and the attack happened at about 9pm.
A 27-year-old Hailsham man was quizzed by police and enquiries are ongoing.
The force is appealing for people who witnessed the incident to come forward.
