IS IT ME or am I from another universe or even suffering from “an age” thing when shopping?

While attempting to buy steak and kidney pies from the deli counter in a well known store specialising in food and clothing I was greeted with “they are only available in winter as they are seasonal”.

Why then were they selling steak and ale and peppered steak pies?

What’s the difference? In the last couple of weeks I visited the same store and asked where women’s nightdresses were as I couldn’t find any, only to be told that none were available in store as it was autumn coming up to winter and they are seasonal too.

Who in their ivory tower is dictating what we can and cannot eat and what we can and cannot wear at certain times of the year?

I can understand certain types of clothing are associated with certain times of the year but quite honestly everybody eats food and goes to bed whatever the time of the year.

Am I missing the point?
