POLICE are offering a reward for a convict wanted back in jail.

Eastbourne man Christopher Charman, 30, was sentenced to three months in prison in May for a racially-aggravated offence.

Charman was released on licence last month but has since breached the conditions and is wanted on recall to jail.

Sussex Police are now offering a £500 reward for information that leads to his conviction.

Charman, who is white, 5ft 10in, slim and has brown hair, is believed to be in Eastbourne but does frequent in Hailsham and Heathfield.

Detective Constable Karen Colbran, of Sussex Police, said: “Christopher knows he is wanted but we have so far been unsuccessful in our attempts to locate him. We’re really keen to catch up with him, so we’re offering a £500 reward for information leading to his arrest.

“If he fails to hand himself in, new legislation being used by police means he risks being prosecuted for being unlawfully at large and may face an additional sentence.”

Anyone with information on Charman’s whereabouts should call police on 101 quoting serial 449 of 31/07.
