POLICE are seeking a man who carried out an early morning robbery at a store in Haywards Heath.

Just after 6am on Tuesday September 25, staff were preparing to open the Co-op store in Middle Village, within Bolnore Village.

One of the staff members went to the exit at the rear of the store and was confronted by the suspect who made her take to the safe from which he took £2000 before leaving through the rear exit.

The suspect was stocky, wearing a dark hoody with his hood up, a black full face balaclava, black trousers and white trainers.

He was carrying a bag which is believed to be brown.

The staff member was unhurt but was left very shaken by the experience.

Detective Constable Adam Tidy said; “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident.”
