THIS is the aftermath of a roof collapse in which students narrowly escaped being crushed to death.

The rented property in Preston Road, Brighton, suddenly gave way on Friday afternoon while four of the five University of Sussex residents were inside. One of them, 20-year-old Tess Michaels, said at the time she feared her friends had died.

These drone shots captured by Mick Bishop show the extent of the damage, with the roof completely flat compared to the neighbouring ones that still stand strong.

Miraculously, none of the students was injured in the drama, though they have been forced to move out.
