AN engineering company has pledged a £500,000 investment with up to 30 new jobs.

Shoreham firm Pyroban has announced the news as it approaches its 50th anniversary and first year under new ownership.

Chief executive Brian Quarendon said: “We have re-organised our worldwide operations this year and made huge investments in our Shoreham facility to create a global centre of excellence for the manufacture of explosion protection solutions.

“We have recently introduced a new electric vehicle production line in Shoreham whilst increasing our market share in the UK and in our export markets.

“This has led to further planned investments at the facility of up to £500,000 and lots more exciting career opportunities.”

Pyroban is staging a careers open morning on Saturday for potential staff.

It is looking for technicians, engineers and product designers as well as apprenticeship opportunities.

Mr Quarendon said: “Pyroban has a long history in West Sussex so I am pleased that the company continues to have a strong commitment to the local workforce and business community.”
