A RENOWNED chocolate shop has put a sweet twist on a cult classic film.

Brighton’s famous chocolatier Choccywoccydoodah has created a range of masterpieces inspired by 1975’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The display, in partnership with the Theatre Royal, is part of the store’s Halloween campaign and will run until October 31.

It also coincides with the stage show of the film coming to the Theatre Royal in December.

Richard O’Brien’s timeless musical masterpiece has entranced film-lovers for more than 40 years and now they can sample it in chocolate form. The theatre worked closely with Choccywoccydoodah’s resident creative mastermind Dave Pop and some of the sweet masterpiece results are pictured here.

Dave said: “I was thrilled with the idea of working with Theatre Royal Brighton to make some Rocky themed art during the production over Christmas.

“I fell in love with the Rocky Horror Show age 14 at a late night showing. Not having a clue what to expect, I couldn’t resist the Time Warp – thanks to the instructions – and Sweet Transvestite blew my mind. My art is perfectly suited, being a saucy seaside style, so expect some sexy comic book style heroes, heroines and monsters.”

With all the key characters from the film, such as Dr Frank N Furter, Brad and Janet all on show, the creations are not only delicious but also the perfect advert for the upcoming show.

Theatre Royal Brighton’s general manager John Baldock said: “We think Choccywoccydoodah are brilliant and are thrilled to be collaborating with them.

“We love how they embody the spirit of Brighton with their incredible hand-made chocolate and cakes.

“Theatre Royal Brighton is the spiritual home for the Rocky Horror Show, making Rocky and Choccy a perfect match.”

The Rocky Horror Picture Show chocolates will only be in the Brighton and London stores for a limited time.

The stage show will be at Brighton Theatre Royal from December 13 to January 5.
