RAM raiders used a digger to plunder a cash machine from a village supermarket.
The Sainsbury’s Local shop in Billingshurst High Street has been left collapsed after the overnight raid.
Fire crews say the road through the West Sussex village near Horsham has been closed off, and police are investigating.
Pictures from the scene show the roof of the entrance to the store collapsed, with debris scattered across the road.
The raid follows a similar ram raid in the nearby village of Rudgwick last week, where a gang used a forklift truck to steal a machine from a Co-Op.
It is not clear if the incidents are linked.
