A BURNING vehicle caused major traffic disruption at Junction 9 (Gatwick Airport) on the M23.
Fire crews from Crawley, Godstone, Salfords and West Sussex were called to the scene just after noon on Saturday.
Highways England tweeted that all lanes were closed while the fire service dealt with the incident.
The incident caused congestion back to Junction 10 (Crawley).
At about 1pm, Highways England tweeted: "All lanes have now reopened on the #M23 northbound between J9 and J8 following the earlier vehicle fire. Delays are clearing well."
