NORMAN Cook is absolutely right. We should all be a bit more snail.
Norman, better known as Fatboy Slim, will be embarking on a leisurely yet lengthy walk tomorrow to visit every single snail in the city.
It is a challenge he is relishing and no wonder.
It is great the snails and associated events are raising money for Martlets Hospice, which is a truly wonderful cause.
They have brought a huge splash of colour to Brighton and Hove and it has been great to see so many parents taking their youngsters to see them.
Sadly, the snails will only be on display until the end of November before they are auctioned off in early December to raise money for Martlets.
However, in the interim, we should all take a leaf out of Fatboy’s book, get out there, enjoy some fresh air and take in the beauty of the snails which have been so brilliantly decorated.
The daily pace of life in our city is invariably hectic and we are all guilty of rushing about with barely a pause for breath.
We get home, invariably shattered and slump in front of the television with a ready meal.
It is the reality of the modern world but perhaps it is time to take a more “continental approach”.
Pay a visit to France, Spain, Portugal or Greece and they make family time a priority.
In a nutshell, they know how to relax and make the most of their leisure time.
Our city certainly has a lot to offer, so let’s heed the snails’ message.
Get out and enjoy the welcome warm autumn weather and just chill out.
