TWO cars caught fire after a crash on the A27.
The accident happened on the westbound carriageway between Brighton and Portslade, near the Hove slip road, at about 5.30pm today (Thursday, October 19).
Police, paramedics and firefighters were at the scene.
The fire was put out and one lane remained closed while the burned-out cars were recovered.
Police warned motorists to avoid the area if possible.

Video footage shows the cars engulfed in flames, while another image shows firefighters using a hose to tackle the blaze.
A West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called to the incident at 5.29pm after reports of two cars being on fire.
"Three appliances from Brighton, Hove and Shoreham were sent to deal with the incident.”
