Sompting Pumpkin Picking

Sompting Pumpkin Patch, Sompting, until Sunday, October 28

It’s Halloween and what is the season of spook without a few jackolanterns to decorate your house with.

If you fancy making it a family activity then take the little ones over to Sompting to pick their own pumpkins to carve.

It’s always a great feeling when you carve your first pumpkin and picking it from a patch is far more special than getting it from the vegetable aisle of the supermarket.

As well as the pumpkin picking itself, there are wheelbarrows to push, Halloween crafts, fun activities, and you may even get to meet the witch that watches over the entire patch.

Brighton Sea Life Ascarium

Sea Life Centre, Brighton, until Sunday, November 4

If you want to mix the magic of Halloween with a fondness of fish then the Ascarium could be right up your street.

Take a special trail at the sea life centre which will see you encounter some of the scariest deep sea creatures around.

While on your journey there will be crucial potion ingredients to collect in various tanks, all will need to be found before heading to the lair of the Sea Witch.

Halloween Hocus Pocus

Borde Hill Garden, Haywards Heath, until Wednesday, October 31

It’s not quite Hogwarts but if you’ve ever fancied that you could make it far in the wizarding world then why not hope on your broom, or in the car, and get to Borde Hill’s Academy of Witches and Wizards.

Across the daily garden trail young magicians will be given a series of tasks and challenges to complete in their spell book.

If done in enough time then a prize can be collected from the head witch when you visit her lair.

The Snowman Exhibition

Make notes and learn as much as you can from the artwork of a children’s classic.
