Police forensics officers were called to a town centre incident.
The experts, in white boiler suits, had cordoned off Station Street in Eastbourne this morning.
There were at least 18 markers put down by the investigator, who was there from 9am on Saturday.
The area was cordoned off by police, and residents reported the road was closed for much of the day, but reopened in the afternoon.
