A HOTEL near Gatwick Airport was evacuated after a fire broke out in a bedroom.
Firefighters were called to the Travelodge at Povey Cross Road, Horley, at 5.15am today.
Six fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a command support unit were in attendance.
A West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The building was evacuated, and on arrival, the fire was located in a room on the second floor.
“It was extinguished by firefighters with breathing apparatus using a jet and dry riser.
“The area was then ventilated. We left at 7.06am.”
The cause of the fire is not known.
There were no reports of any injuries.
