A FRUSTRATED resident who believes parking restrictions cracking down on commuters are against the law has lost his legal case against the council.

Former police officer Stuart Bower called for a judicial review on Brighton and Hove City Council’s parking permit policy in the Wish area of Hove.

He said it was illegally targeting commuters and pushing the problem elsewhere.

But his case was thrown out by a judge as it was not made within three months of the policy.

He told The Argus he is currently seeking legal advice for what to do next.

Speaking about the case, Mr Bower said: “Apart from the fact that commuters have got to park somewhere, the council cannot be allowed to solve the problems for one set of residents merely to inflict it on another set of residents.

“It is now a question of waiting to see what the legal advice comes up with.”
