Was there any need for seafoodlover Hugh Clench (The Argus, September 21) to kill the 9lb crab that he purchased at Shoreham harbour?

If this was one of the largest crabs to be caught in British waters could he not have given it to Brighton Sea Life Centre and let this grand old gentleman of the sea live out the rest of its life away from the likes of Hugh Clench and the cooking pot?

What a shame, but I guess this sums up the selfish attitude of today's society.
