Who remembers these jewellers and pawnbrokers shops in Brighton?
Douglas Newman’s shop Gold Arts can be found in Brighton Place today.
He set up a small shop in the heart of the Lanes, employing one member of staff, in 1979.
Now there are five Gold Arts stores and five G.A Pawnbrokers shops, which Douglas also owns, employing 60 members of staff.
Did you shop in Shorland Fooks in East Street before it closed in 1984?
