MASKED raiders burst into a fast-food restaurant, assaulted staff and stole £1,500.
Three men stormed KFC in Goring Road, Goring, threatened staff and stole cash just before closing time at about 10.30pm on Sunday.
A member of staff was assaulted but not hurt and there were no customers present at the time.
The robbers were unarmed but staff were shocked and upset by what happened, police said.
The three men are all described as black, in their early to mid-twenties, with masks or scarves over their faces, wearing puffa and parka jackets and tracksuit bottoms.
They ran off towards Worthing.
Detective Constable Pete Parkinson appealed for witnesses to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
