A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was walking his dog when a stranger told him to get in his car.

The family of the boy are appealing for any information about the incident which happened on the junction of East Albany Road and Grove Road in Seaford on Monday.

The boy was walking his dog at about 4.30pm when he went past a man who was sat in a small black car.

The car window was open and the boy said the man told him to get in.

The boy ignored him and ran home.

Officers then carried out a search of the area after it was reported by his family, but could not find the man or the vehicle.

Sussex Police and Seaford Head School have been informed of the incident.

A spokesman from the school said: “These things will happen, but we will work with police and parents to do everything we can to keep our children safe.”

The family are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward with information or CCTV which could help officers with their enquires.

A Sussex police spokeswoman added: “We understand that such reports cause concern but we have received no further reports of anyone acting suspiciously.

“However anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact police online or ring 101 quoting serial 1048 of 12/11.”
